In Memoriam - BPIS Am/Cdn Shelamo's Prospector

It has taken me a bit to compose this .....
January 30, 2000 - September 1, 2013

It was with a heavy heart that my dear "Rock Man" passed in my arms, at home in the wee hours of September 1, 2013.  Both Mike and my mom were here by his side.

He was born into litter of 6 on January 30, 2000 (3 would become Ch's), and little did we know how full he would make our lives.  From the beginning he was my heart dog, always being by my side, watching my every move, and becoming the face of Shelamo kennels from that point forward.
"Rocky" is on the left
He was our Ambassador for our breed here, taking up residency on any new client's lap without asking questions!

There were so many 1st accomplishments he did for us here @ Shelamo .... so many hearts he touched along the way.

"Rocky" finishing his Cdn Championship OKC show November 2000 from the Snr Puppy Class over 3 BIS Specials - what a day!
After a Canadian wide competition he was chosen for the Purina Campaign of Champions (1 of 20).
He was the April boy for the Purina 2002 Calendar and had his picture on their nationwide Show Booth for many years.

So this is where we part, My Friend,
And you'll run on, around the bend.
Gone from sight, but not from mind,
new pleasures there you'll surely find.

I will go on; I'll find the strength,
Life measures quality, not its length.
One long embrace before you leave,
Share one last look, before I grieve.

There are others, that much is true,
But they be they, and they aren't you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
Will remember well all you've taught.

Your place I'll hold, you will be missed,
The fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.
And as you journey to your final rest,
Take with you this...I loved you best.

-Jim Willis

A tribute will be done in two weeks on Sheltie Strut.

Thank-you to the vets, Mark & Amanda, now at the Mississippi Animal Hospital for being there from the beginning of his life to the end.
You are sadly missed by Mike and I, dear Bud.  There will be a day we can play again.

Dear Maureen&Mike:
What a great tribute to a much loved"bud".I am so proud to have his grandson;Windsor" as part of our family. The photo taken in Jan. of this year shows the bond and love that you both had for one another.
A true ambassador he was for Shelamo. My thoughts are with you both during these difficult times.

A Beautiful tribute and my heart goes out to you over the loss of such a great sheltie amabassador. It's never easy to say good-bye. I have an old gentleman sheltie living with me who is 10 going on 15 thanks to a heart murmur and arthritis. I know I'll be facing a loss in the near future and it is already breaking my heart.

A very touching tribute to your best bud. Your winter photos mean so much more now, your friend did a great job. so very sorry for your loss Maureen. I'm very proud to have a Rocky boy, Shelamo's First Class Scout. I've been at agility events & most recently at the Kingston Sheepdog Trials where I have been asked what kennel Scout is from, so yes I'm proud to have a Rocky boy. His legacy continues ... Cindy
