Fun and enjoyable weekend at the Petawawa Dog Show. It was a Timmies weekend you might say, and thank-you to those that did the constant runs.
We took out our Bi-Black girl Shelamo She's Got Moxi. She is now getting the hang of showing! Proud to say she came away with a RWB one day and yesterday Winners Bitch, under a judge I respect - Dr Robert Smith from Va, USA. We've shown 2 dogs to him 2 other times - one was when he gave our BPIS Am/Cdn Ch Shelamo's Prospector a reserve at one of his 1st US shows handled by Dr Sherry Lee in 2002,
Penny dropped over yesterday afternoon to capture pictures of "Revil" at 12 wks of age. We prayed the skies would not rain on us.
This little munchkin went with us for Easter dinner (my sister asked us to bring that "Rocky like puppy" we had) and he got to play with her boy. In doing so, they ran thru her dry/dirty gardens. Needless to say his legs were a bit dirty, but with a quick cleaning and fluffing, here he is.
He just started his leash & 'show show' training yesterday too. He's already got pretty good focus I'd say.
He's co-owned with Penny of Ruffleith.

This is "Revil" @ 10 wks - caught doing his hip-pity hop - which he LOVES to do!
The two pups went on a 'bunny hop' run yesterday.
Mucho thanks to Ruffleith shelties - Penny Woodruff - we will be co-owing this sweetie! He's just a doll. Very outgoing, always at my feet, gotta do what I'm doing, even if it's pick-up potty time :) He's reminding me so much of what our "Rocky" was as a puppy.
here he's doing a chase in the fields after our tri girl Disco (out of our Gralochs Blueberry Tart)On March 31st with friends Marylou & Janet we packed up several dogs and headed to the Ottawa Kennel Club's 2nd Sanction Match of the year.
It was a fun day, show/ring training Journey & Cocoa. Cocoa's sister Mocha went along for more experience being around all different breeds. Shelamo She's Got Moxi honed her skills, taking a Group 1st again, with Cocoa taking Best Puppy In Group.
just over 3 months of age Shelamo Man On A Journey shows he's going to have fun with this!

This picture - on the day we took them on a run in the back woods @ Marylou'sIntroducing our bi-black girl, Moxi, all grown up. She's now 21/2 years old. Thanks to Penny for taking these great pics. It was an experience for both of us to photograph a black dog, the hardest colouring to get good pics of.

This past weekend Mike & I went to the 6th Annual Purina National CKC Charity Event held in Toronto, near the airport. Altho a very windy weekend, with sun snow showers now and again, sun & warmth finally on Sunday, it was a great get away. Purina put on an awesome event again this year and treated their ProClub members like royalty.

We had Shannon of Animates paint us another chair. This year we featured our 3 seniors Rocky, Casino & Opal.
Our own Canadian comedian, Rick Mercer was also there doing a taping for a show. Here he is having an intro conversation with the Co-Chairperson Richard Paquette. He also tried his hand at Rally - not sure if he passed :) - and handled a Standard Poodle in show ring format. He spent a lot of time walking through the grooming area talking with various breeders.

March 5th was Graduation Night for my 2 dog obedience classes at the Glen Cairn Community Centre in Kanata. Here are four of the dogs, doing their long sit/stays in the Level 2 class. Good job handlers!
Our two pups from our Trixie litter are enjoying life at the Davidson's. After a hard play outside, some one's hogging the bed!

Hope some of my Toronto clients are able to come by and see us. Just as a note, only dogs entered in the show are allowed on the premises.

Another year of Fun! at the 19th Annual Ron Kolbus Lakeside Community Centre's Winter Garden Party. This is the Community Centre where I've taught dog obedience since 1994. There are various booths representing the classes offered, games for the kids, face painting, scavenger hunt, demonstrations, music, outside activities and prizes to be won.
It was a beautiful sunny day for it - windy to start & cold but that let up and the temperature improved. We'd had little snow up until the weekend, but with the snow storm the outdoor activities were able to go on. The horse drawn sleigh rides were there, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and a taffy pull area. The event was very well attended, keeping us busy. I realized when I went through my pictures I'd taken very few this year.
Mary Lou, Mary-Anne & Andrea (student work volunteer experience) were there with me. We took Harley (Mary Lou's boy), Chinook, Moxi, our 4+month old girl Gem, and 10 wk old boy Journey.
