Never Easy Saying Good Bye

"Tyme"
Dec 6, 2006 - January 26, 2012

It is with great sadness that we had to send our Ch Shelamo Tyme Descends, at such a young age, across the Rainbow Bridge.

In less than 5 days she went from a happy girl, pushing her food away for later, then with a bit it coming back up later, to yesterday interested but refusing food and a bit out of sorts. There were no other outward signs. Blood test were insignificant, xrays & ultrasound showed a light mass which the thought was maybe ovarian issues. Her litter of pups was almost 14 wks ago.

Surgery was scheduled for today, which we found a large mass cell tumor attached to her upper intestines & pancreas. There was also another one near the spine. No way was surgical removal possible and prognosis for any treatment was grave at best.

Hard as it was we didn't wake her up.

She leaves behind a great legacy ...

her daughter
Ch Shelamo Riding The Wind (ASSA 2011 placement)
& her daughters
MPBIS BPISS Ch Shelamo Flash Forward (2011#3 Sheltie Puppy In Canada)
& Ch Shelamo Deja Vu

her son
BPIS Ch Shelamo's Riding The Wind

and now ...
growing out are her 3 daughters, Mocha, Cocoa & Gem

"Tyme's" father BPIS Am/Cdn Ch Shelamo's Prospector
& mother Shelamo Mata Hari

and her grandmother
Shelamo's Party Pack ROMC

are all still with us here

We will miss you dearly "Tyme Tyme".
Rest well, till we meet you at the Rainbow Bridge

So unexpected and so sad for you, and for her. I know from the way you wrote about her many times, that Tyme was one of your favourite girls. "The good die young" would be a fitting epitaph.

You're so right Judy, in all ways.

I'm so sorry for your loss Judy. I'm an avid Sheltie lover with 2 of my own and have been following your blog and admiring your litters for some time. Your love of the breed shines through and I can't imagine your heartbreak over this loss. You clearly gave her a wonderful life, albeit shorter than hoped. Tracey

I'm so sorry for your loss Maureen, it's so hard to let them go. It's consoling that you have her puppies to remember her by.

Maureen, I am SO very sorry to hear about Tyme. It's horrible to lose them at any age, but when they're so young it's extra heart breaking. My Giant Mutant Sheltie Kelvin was only 5 when he passed away from lymphoma. It's hard, even when you know you've done what's best for them. You're in my thoughts Maureen.

Cancer is such a terrible beast. I lost my Ceilidh to mast cell cancer. She had surgery to remove the tumour on her 7th birthday but at 7 yrs 4 mos I had to let her go when the cancer came back in her lymph system.

So sorry for your loss.

It was a quiet ride home today with thoughts of Tyme. Looking at her picture makes me weep...such a beautiful girl. So glad we have one of her gifts. We loved you at first glance Tyme

Oh my, what a terrible loss for you, I'm so very, very sorry. Your Tyme was my favorite "pretty face" on your website. Hugs, Chris

I feel the same way as Jennifer and Clare. I am so happy to have such a treasured gift from Tyme. I remember meeting her the first time and noticing her gentle friendly temperament. She didn't suffer for long but it is such a shock. Whistler will continue her spirit along with her other beautiful puppies.

Had to sent my sweet sheltie, Gaberiel, across the Rainbow Bridge myself just shy of his 10th Birthday that same week...like you the situation came on quickly & unexpectedly. I may not know you personally, but please know my heart is with you in this season.
