Now Time For Lunch

Never ending ... feed, clean, feed, clean, play, play, feed .... clean again! Just an absolutely lovely day for the pups to be outside. The pack having lunch.

Ring around the bowls

Out in Saskatoon we spotted this whimsical mobile so with the breeze today it's really spinning and giving the pups a good overhead distraction.
Hummm ... said I had other things to do today ... yup, one by one the jobs are getting done ... before we get ourselves ready for a Special evening out.

They're all so intent on their food. I guess if they look up there's a chance someone will gobble up their share. Interesting contrast between the really light, almost tawny brown and darker coats. I guess the mamas are enjoying a well-deserved break while the youngsters are outside?

Yep, some are the lighter colour we call a red sable. The others will likely be a darker sable, or mahogany. Sables are one of the sheltie colours that really change over their lives. They just ge richer with age.

Love the pictures of the scads of puppies. How do you tell them apart when there are so many?

after you've handled them for 6wks you learn who's who .. difference in the sable colouring, collar, one with a partial brown leg, size .. and to help for clients, or others that are here, the litter of 6 I've used a blk perm marker mark on their neck collar. Just had clients here to redo a puppies ears and they & their grandkids helped bring them in 'cause it's getting TOO hot outside - less steps for me :) and easy for them to know
